Lagos is the business hub of Nigeria. Alone Lagos produces 10-15% of the GDP of Nigeria. COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected most countries with giant economies in the world like the USA and China. Whereas Nigeria was already living 40-45% under the poverty line, the COVID-19 pandemic contributed a significantly bad effect on the whole of Africa. More than half a billion people lost jobs due to COVID-19 in Africa

 

Nigeria somehow coped with the pandemic COVID-19 situation bravely. People in Nigeria are willing to work below standard wages. The literacy rate is 62% as of the 2018 census but the quality of education is low in Nigeria.  So there is a high demand for people who studied at well-known universities in other countries or foreigners holding professional degrees.I have compiled a list of the highest-paid jobs in Nigeria for the ease of foreigners.

Most developed countries have bounced back to their normal life whereas Africa is still struggling to gain its previous status. So the demand for doctors, nurses and medical staff has increased in all countries of Africa. Foreigners with a Doctorate, nursing diplomas and medical staff experience can contact any public or private hospital or intensive care unit administration for jobs. The average salary of doctors is higher than nurses and medical staff. They usually earn 300,000 NGN to 1,700,000 NGN based on experience and medical schooling.

Engineers

Engineers are the second-highest in demand in Nigeria. Engineers are important in every field whether it be Aeronautical Engineer, Petroleum engineers, Software Engineer, Chemical engineers, Electrical engineers, civil engineers, architectural engineers,  etc. From building a sewerage system to providing electricity to controlling pollution everywhere engineer's services are needed. The average engineer in Nigeria earns 300,000 NGN while an engineer with expertise earns 17,00,000 Nigerian Naira.

Though the official language of Nigeria is English because it is a British colony, still it is not fluently used in the country. There are around 600 languages spoken alone in Nigeria. Language is always an obstacle if one doesn't know how to speak a certain language.
